Taking a photo is a way I explore the world. Exploring my neighborhood and school, I take pictures of things that catch my attention so I can preserve them as memories. I’m compelled to capture memories based on emotion—for example, the happiness I feel when I see the morning sun shining on my curtain. In the future, I hope to expand my worldview, capturing memories of various people and countries. I enjoy taking pictures in both black-and-white and color. I am inspired by Malick Sidibé, whose black-and-white photos depict culture in 1960s and 70s Bamako, Mali. I mostly like street photography that includes nature and people. I love exploring my school and my neighborhood, Harlem. It's a way to capture memories and show the beauty of nature.
