Maimouna Mbeguere

Working in digital photography, I’m drawn to capturing what I find beautiful—architecture, nature, and sunsets. I’m especially interested in how people react to my work and how it makes them feel. Those responses motivate me to improve and help me understand how to communicate more effectively through my images.

I use photography to highlight the beauty of the world and the often-overlooked details of everyday life. Through my photography, I explore the city and the cultures around me, sharing diverse stories and perspectives. Aside from photography, I also love to cook. It’s another way I express love and care, especially for my family. I’m deeply inspired by my parents—they are always here for me, providing a strong education, constant support, and helping me navigate life’s challenges. I’m grateful for their resilience—it  taught me how to build my own.

Maimouna Mbeguere is a senior at New Heights Academy Charter School. She likes to capture the beauty of the world: everyday life, nature, and architecture. She enjoys playing basketball, watching movies, and cooking for her family as a way to show care and love for them. Maimouna doesn’t know how to ride a bike because she fears falling, and she has never skipped school because she doesn’t want to fall behind in her classes. Her parents inspire her because they are always there for her—they support and encourage her, teach her about life, and they would never let go of her.
