When I’m creating my art, I’m often excited about the characteristics and details I’m trying to capture, which are what makes a place, person, or a setting— otherwise defined as “ambiance.” Through photography, I’m able to find my voice in the process of exploring my creativity.Though I may work in several mediums, including photography and painting, I want to find one that magnifies my voice and creativity more than the other one. My process includes mapping out how I want the image to look, and finding innovative ideas on Pinterest, including for settings and props.

For example, If I want the theme of my photography to be “dissociates disorder” I would browse Pinterest and figure out how I can portray the subject using an ombré light. My mapping process can go from setting up the lights and adding different backgrounds to completely illuminating the model's face for the photograph. I am inspired by those behind the cameras in films produced by A24, a film and television production and distribution company. These cinematographers have creatively developed a unique style and lighting to portray real-world problems. But also, Bad Bunny, who has influenced my style, aesthetic, and feelings since 2015.

I'm a senior attending the High School for Law Advocacy and Community Justice in Manhattan, though I live in a small neighborhood in Far Rockaway. I volunteer at a community center and work at my community garden. My favorite hobbies are gaming, writing, and drawing. My dream is to become a corporate lawyer and establish law firms across various countries and continents. I spent most of my childhood in the Dominican Republic, which greatly influenced my perspective and aspirations. Balancing school, work, and volunteering, I strive to succeed in opportunities offered to me that further helps me pursue my passions and future career goals.
