I am a very shy person on the outside, but on the inside I am someone else that people don’t expect. I am always on the lookout to learn new things and experiment and am a critical thinker and love exploring. I am inspired by everything that is around me. I want to focus on capturing emotions and actions in photography as well as using my voice to promote change. I am an outgoing person and love expressing myself.

In my photos, I want to explore techniques in photography that create strong meanings and evoke emotions such as self-love, confidence, and change. During the time I was in the Expanding the Walls, I really got inspiration from Carrie Mae Weems’s storytelling, which took it to another level. Lorna Simpson’s artwork has inspired me to become who I am and to embrace it. With the help of this program, I am learning to overcome things and express change and emotion. Taking photos more frequently has allowed me to express myself in my artwork in ways that I couldn’t before.
