Aleah Berroa

I use black-and-white photography as a way to remove distractions. I’m partial to monochrome pictures with leading lines and a focal point for its simplicity and timelessness. I’m drawn to the beauty found in everyday moments, expressions of community and friendship, and capturing someone in full focus. My connection with photography began in the darkroom at my high school, where I first experienced the immediate, intimate process of making a photograph by hand. Something clicked, and I knew I had found what I loved.
